Police described a wrong-way movement before the collision
Police told amNY that Andy Peralta rode north on Jerome Avenue, turned left onto West Mosholu Parkway South and then traveled west against traffic while an MTA bus driver was traveling east on the same road. amNY reported that the collision involved the front driver-side corner of the bus and that Peralta was thrown from the motorcycle.
The Daily News accounts used different wording. Its first report described Peralta making a U-turn on a scooter; a later report said he turned left from Jerome Avenue onto West Mosholu Parkway South and went the wrong way on a one-way street.

The city crash record places the fatal collision at West Mosholu Parkway South and Jerome Avenue at 5:14 p.m. on April 8. amNY reported the location was near the elevated Mosholu Pkwy 4 train station and within the NYPD's 52nd Precinct.
The Daily News placed the crash in Bedford Park and identified the bus as a Bx28. Its first report referred to the area near East Mosholu Parkway, while the later account and the city record point to West Mosholu Parkway South.
Peralta was identified as a delivery rider
The official fatality record lists the person killed as a 32-year-old male motorcycle driver. Police later identified him in press accounts as Andy Peralta. The Daily News reported he had been making deliveries for Uber Eats for more than five years and lived in University Heights.
amNY reported that the MTA bus was operated by a 30-year-old female driver, and that she remained at the scene. Police said roughly 20 passengers were aboard the bus and no additional injuries were reported.
Records and reports describe the two vehicles differently
The city crash record identifies the involved vehicles as a 2025 Taizhou motorcycle and a 2019 Nova Bus. The same record lists the motorcycle driver as unlicensed in New York and the bus driver as licensed.
Press accounts described Peralta's vehicle as a scooter or motorcycle, with amNY calling it a Zhilong motorcycle and the Daily News calling it a 2025 Zhilong scooter. The later Daily News report identified the bus as a Bx28.
The crash record lists traffic control disregarded
The city crash record lists Traffic Control Disregarded as a contributing factor for the crash and for the motorcycle. The motorcycle vehicle record also lists Unsafe Speed.
The Daily News reported that officers had attempted to stop Peralta four minutes earlier after seeing him traveling against the flow of traffic near East 205th Street and Jerome Avenue. An NYPD spokesman did not say whether officers were actively pursuing him when he turned into oncoming traffic.
Peralta died at St. Barnabas Hospital
Emergency medical workers took Peralta to St. Barnabas Hospital after he suffered severe head trauma. Police told reporters he was pronounced dead there.
amNY reported that police had made no arrest and that the NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad was continuing to investigate.
