A motorcycle rider died in a Long Island Expressway ramp crash.
David Rivera, 49, died after a motorcycle crash on the eastbound Long Island Expressway outer roadway ramp east of 69th Street in Maspeth on the morning of Aug. 8, QNS reported, citing police.

QNS reported that NYPD investigators said Rivera was riding a Suzuki GSX-R750 eastbound on the ramp's right shoulder. Officers found him with a serious head injury, and EMS pronounced him dead at the scene. In its Aug. 11 report, QNS said no arrests had been made and the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad was continuing its investigation.

Officers responding to a 911 call found him on the roadway with a serious head injury. QNS reported that EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police identified the rider as David Rivera, 49, of Athboy Drive in Marlboro, Ulster County. QNS described Marlboro as a town just south of Poughkeepsie.
The motorcycle was identified as a Suzuki GSX-R750.
