Three Brooklyn Teens Killed in Belt Parkway Crash

Police said a 46-year-old Honda SUV driver rear-ended a slowing Cadillac SUV near Exit 1 on the eastbound Belt Parkway, where three Brooklyn teenagers were ejected and later died, News12 Brooklyn reported.

Police said 18-year-old Huzaysah Markharesh was driving a 2022 Cadillac SUV with four teenage passengers and was trying to slow in the center lane after encountering a slow-moving driver ahead. A 46-year-old woman driving a 2024 Honda SUV behind him was also unable to slow and rear-ended the Cadillac. Both drivers lost control and the SUVs hit guardrails on the south side of the roadway. The Cadillac overturned, ejecting Markharesh and passengers Konstantin Greatidi, 17, and Abdul Rehman, 16; all three later died at NYU Langone-Brooklyn.

A late-night rear-end crash on the Belt Parkway

News12 Brooklyn reported that police responded to a 911 call for a vehicle collision at Exit 1 on the eastbound Belt Parkway at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said Huzaysah Markharesh, 18, was driving a 2022 Cadillac SUV with four teenage passengers and was trying to slow in the center lane after encountering a slow-moving driver ahead. A 46-year-old woman driving a 2024 Honda SUV behind him was also unable to slow and rear-ended the Cadillac.

After the impact, both drivers lost control and the SUVs hit guardrails on the south side of the roadway. The Cadillac overturned, ejecting Markharesh and two passengers.

Three teenagers died after being taken to the hospital

EMS took Markharesh and passengers Konstantin Greatidi, 17, and Abdul Rehman, 16, to NYU Langone-Brooklyn in critical condition. News12 reported that all three were from Brooklyn and were later pronounced dead.

Two other teenage passengers, ages 18 and 16, were taken to Maimonides Hospital in stable condition. The Honda driver and her 44-year-old passenger were taken to NYU Langone-Brooklyn in stable condition.
