A 56-year-old woman driving a Honda Civic struck a 61-year-old pedestrian while turning onto Union Turnpike shortly before 8 a.m., QNS reported; the pedestrian later died at Jamaica Hospital.

QNS reported that police investigators determined a 56-year-old woman driving a 2010 Honda Civic south on Main Street struck a pedestrian as she completed a left turn onto Union Turnpike. The 61-year-old woman was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where QNS and the New York Post said she was pronounced dead. QNS identified her as Jing Wang; the Post gave her name as Wang Jing. QNS and the Daily News placed the crash on Tuesday, Aug. 25, while the Post reported Wednesday. The driver stayed at the scene, and no arrests had been made when the stories were published.

QNS reported that police investigators determined a 56-year-old woman drove a 2010 Honda Civic south on Main Street and struck a pedestrian while completing a left turn onto Union Turnpike. QNS and the New York Post reported that the pedestrian was crossing from south to north outside the marked crosswalk. EMS took her to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where QNS and the Post said she was pronounced dead.
QNS dated the crash to Tuesday, Aug. 25, and the Daily News also described a Tuesday morning crash. The New York Post instead reported that it happened Wednesday around 8 a.m.
The crash was near the pedestrian's home.
The reports place the crash at Main Street and Union Turnpike in Queens. QNS and the New York Post describe the neighborhood as Kew Gardens Hills, while the Daily News calls it Briarwood. QNS reported that the pedestrian lived at the Village Mall at Hillcrest Condominiums, less than half a mile from the intersection.
Reports give two versions of her name.
QNS identified the 61-year-old woman as Jing Wang. The New York Post gave her name as Wang Jing and also reported her age as 61. The Daily News reported her age but said her name had not yet been released.
The driver remained while investigators worked.
QNS and the New York Post reported that the driver stayed at the scene and reported no injuries. Both said no arrests had been made and that the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad was investigating.
