   Morning on the Major Deegan, a 23-year-old driver fell asleep in his Dodge sedan and crashed. He walked away conscious but with a neck injury and severe bleeding, another young body paying the price for one moment of sleep.
   According to the police report, around 9:50 a.m. on September 18, 2025, a 23-year-old man driving a 2019 Dodge sedan north on the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx fell asleep and crashed while going straight. Police recorded a neck injury with severe bleeding. The driver was listed as conscious and the only occupant. The vehicle sustained center-front damage on the arterial highway.

   A 23-year-old driver heading north on the Major Deegan hit the car in front and injured himself on a Sunday afternoon run through the Bronx.
   According to the police report, two northbound drivers on the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx crashed when the rear driver hit the car ahead, damaging the BMW’s back end and the SUV’s front. The 23-year-old man driving the rear vehicle reported back and internal injuries.

   A tow truck driver turned left off Van Cortlandt Park South toward Orloff and hit a 25-year-old man riding straight. The cyclist was partially thrown and left with a neck injury and shock while the distracted driver kept the truck intact.
   According to the police report, a licensed tow truck driver making a left turn from Van Cortlandt Park South toward Orloff Avenue hit a 25-year-old man riding a bike north in the Bronx. The cyclist, who police noted as riding straight, was partially ejected and suffered a neck injury and shock. Police recorded driver inattention and an obstructed view in this rain-soaked crash involving a large truck.

   On the Major Deegan at night, a Mercedes driver cut across and hit a Hyundai’s rear. The 44-year-old Hyundai driver took a head injury and went into shock while police filed it away as “Other Vehicular.”
   Two southbound sedans were traveling on the Major Deegan Expressway when the driver of a Mercedes changed lanes and hit the left rear of a Hyundai that was going straight. According to the police report, the 44-year-old Hyundai driver suffered a head injury and went into shock. Police listed “Other Vehicular” as a contributing factor for both drivers and for the injured driver’s person record.
