   At 5:30 a.m., a driver going straight on the Bruckner Expressway hit a pedestrian crossing outside a crosswalk. Police recorded the man as killed.
   According to the police report, around 5:30 a.m. on April 4, 2026, a driver in an SUV was going straight ahead on the Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx and hit a male pedestrian. Police recorded the pedestrian was crossing with no signal or crosswalk, not at an intersection, and was killed. The crash happened after dark, near dawn.

   According to the police report, a 57-year-old driver in a 2011 Honda Pilot was starting from parking on Virginia Avenue near Gleason Avenue in the Bronx around 2:36 p.m. Sunday when the driver collided with a 16-year-old rider listed as “Other Motorized” operating an ESST. The teen was injured, with abrasions and partial ejection; police recorded cellphone use and “pedestrian error/confusion.”
