   Police said a USPS driver did not remain after a 66-year-old man was hit and killed while crossing Ninth Avenue in Hell's Kitchen.
   Police said the man, 66, was crossing Ninth Avenue mid-block between West 54th and West 55th streets just after 5:30 a.m. when he was hit by a USPS truck. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead. Police said the driver did not remain at the scene, and the NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad was investigating. USPS said it was cooperating with law enforcement.

   A 34-year-old Tesla driver fatally hit e-scooter rider Doreen Meyers at West 60th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, police told reporters.
   Police told reporters that Doreen Meyers, 49, was riding a stand-up e-scooter north on Amsterdam Avenue on the morning of July 30, 2026, when a 34-year-old man driving a Tesla west on West 60th Street hit her. EMS took Meyers to Mount Sinai Morningside, where she was pronounced dead. The driver stayed at the scene, and police said no charges were immediately filed while the NYPD Collision Investigation Squad continued its investigation. West Side Spirit identified Meyers as a Hell's Kitchen resident, former Peace Corps volunteer and dedicated marathoner.

Police recorded failure to yield by the driver.

   A driver in a taxi hit an SUV on W 47th Street at 10th Avenue. A 20-year-old driver suffered a head injury and a 54-year-old passenger reported whiplash.
   According to the police report, a driver in a taxi and a driver in an SUV were both traveling north on W 47th Street at 10th Avenue in Manhattan when the taxi driver hit the SUV, impacting the SUV’s left front and the taxi’s rear. Police recorded illness as a contributing factor. A 20-year-old driver had a head injury, and a 54-year-old front-seat passenger reported whiplash.
