   A hit-and-run driver in a white SUV hit two men crossing 102nd Street just after 4 a.m. on New Year’s Day, killing one and critically injuring the other.
   Police accounts cited by news outlets said a driver in a white SUV was traveling south on 102nd Street shortly after 4 a.m. on Jan. 1 when the driver hit two men crossing in Corona and did not remain at the scene. Official crash records list one pedestrian killed and one injured, and record the killed pedestrian as a 27-year-old man crossing in a marked crosswalk at 102nd Street and 32nd Avenue. News reports placed the crash at or near 102nd Street and 37th Avenue, and QNS reported that investigators said the driver was speeding southbound before the impact.

   A driver made an unsafe lane change on the Grand Central Parkway and a 23-year-old man wound up ejected, semiconscious and bleeding from a head injury.
   According to the police report, a crash was reported at 4:40 p.m. May 27, 2026 on the Grand Central Parkway at 94th Street in Queens involving a motorcycle and a four-door sedan. Police recorded unsafe lane changing and following too closely as contributing factors. A 23-year-old man listed as the driver was injured, ejected, semiconscious, and had a head injury with severe bleeding.

   A driver in a sedan hit a 15-year-old rider on an L-shaped scooter at 96th Street and 32nd Avenue. The teen was injured, with chest trauma and a reported fracture and dislocation.
   According to the police report, a 28-year-old driver in a 2019 Toyota sedan was traveling west on 32nd Avenue when he hit a 15-year-old male riding an L-shaped scooter traveling north on 96th Street around 9:40 a.m. in Queens. Police recorded the rider as injured, ejected, and incoherent, with chest injury and a complaint of fracture, distortion, and dislocation.
