   According to the police report, a 48-year-old man driving an SUV was backing at 355 Bard Ave in Staten Island around 11:33 p.m. on Feb. 3, 2026, when he hit a 72-year-old woman walking in the roadway not at an intersection.    According to the police report, a 38-year-old licensed driver in a 2023 Hyundai SUV turned left from Castleton Avenue toward Davis Avenue on Thursday afternoon and hit a 70-year-old man who was crossing with the signal in the intersection. Police recorded failure to yield right-of-way by both the driver and the pedestrian. The man sustained a hip and upper leg fracture and dislocation.
