   Espina Bundley, 69, remembered by a neighbor as “a very nice person,” died after a driver in an SUV hit her before dawn on Second Avenue in Midtown East.
   Official crash records say Bundley, 69, was killed around half past 4 AM on March 25 while crossing in a marked crosswalk without a signal at Second Avenue and East 58th Street. The records list a male driver with a New York permit, traveling south and going straight in a 2024 Chevrolet SUV, and cite driver inattention or distraction. Police-based reports placed the crash one block south at East 57th Street, said the driver left, and identified the arrested driver as Bryan Alexis Guashpa Rumipamba. Police said he was charged with leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death, failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care.

   Jason Galindo, 32, an active Queens community member, died Jan. 13 after police said he lost control while riding an e-bike in the First Avenue bike lane near E. 45th Street and the U.N.
   Jason Galindo, 32, was killed on Jan. 13, 2026, while riding an e-bike at First Avenue and East 45th Street in Midtown Manhattan. City crash data records the fatal crash at 10:23 p.m. and lists one cyclist killed, with no other injuries. Police told reporters Galindo was riding north in the First Avenue bike lane when he lost control and hit a barrier near the United Nations, suffering severe head trauma before medics took him to Bellevue Hospital.    A pickup driver and a moped rider collided on 3rd Avenue at E 44th Street. The 48-year-old rider was reported unconscious with severe leg lacerations.
   According to the police report, a driver in a 2010 Ford pickup was going north on 3rd Avenue at E 44th Street when the driver and a 48-year-old rider on a 2024 Ducati moped collided as the rider was changing lanes. Police recorded improper or inadequate lane markings as a contributing factor. The rider was reported unconscious with severe lacerations to the knee, lower leg or foot.

   A school-bus driver hit a parked sedan at E 34th Street and Lexington Avenue. A 69-year-old passenger reported chest pain and nausea.
   According to the police report, a school-bus driver and a sedan driver were both listed as parked when the crash was recorded near E 34th Street and Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. Police recorded “Other Vehicular” as the contributing factor for both vehicles. A 69-year-old woman riding as a passenger reported chest pain and nausea. The 75-year-old bus driver was reported with whiplash.

   A distracted driver crashed on FDR Drive after dark. A 29-year-old woman driving an SUV suffered back injuries with a fracture and dislocation.
   According to the police report, two drivers were traveling north on FDR Drive when one changed lanes and they collided. Police recorded driver inattention/distraction, and also unsafe lane changing for the SUV driver. A 29-year-old woman driving the SUV was injured, with a back injury described as fracture, distortion and dislocation. Other occupants were listed; the report does not describe their injuries.
