   Official crash records say a 37-year-old pedestrian was killed while working in the roadway on Parrott Place just after 8 PM on May 26, 2026. The Daily News, citing police, reported that contractor Baber Choudhary backed the van into the worker as he cleared construction debris near 90th Street, briefly pinned him against debris, then drove into the parked Camry before leaving. Police identified Choudhary through witness accounts and video, arrested him later that evening, and charged him with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, the Daily News reported.

   A 43-year-old rear-seat passenger died after police said he went through a Hyundai Santa Fe’s rear passenger window and hit his head on a guardrail.
   Official crash records place the crash on the Belt Parkway just before 9 p.m. Jan. 8 and list one person killed: a 43-year-old man seated in the right rear of a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe. Police told local outlets Rami Elsuwi went through the rear passenger window near the 92 Street pedestrian bridge and hit his head on a guardrail. The driver, a 69-year-old licensed man, was heading east with two occupants in the SUV; police said the investigation was continuing.

   A 61-year-old e-bike rider went down on Shore Road near 68th Street and was knocked unconscious, with a head injury and minor bleeding.
